Strobe Display is a matrix of 16 strobe lights that flash in patterns and rhythms. It was created as a star or navigational beacon for the vast landscape of the Nevada desert. The work seems to have a desperate need to communicate. A viewer tries to decode its message only to find themselves mesmerized by the flashing light and glowing after aura. The strobes have a choreographed logic of their own, a reductive vocabulary emitted over space and time. |
